Smooth and Simple Tips for Curling Hair Extensions

Hair extensions need to be prepped before you put them in. If you have a professional hairstylist, have her prepare the extensions and attach them for you. If you wish to prep hair extensions on your own though, it is highly recommended that you purchase extensions that have already been cut and placed on clips for convenience.

The Curling Part

Curling can be a part of prepping, and so you need to curl your hair extensions before you wear them. It is recommended that you use curling irons to achieve the level of curl you want, but you can also use hot rollers, magnetic rollers, and even Velcro rollers if you prefer; however, these aforementioned choices don’t use heat, and therefore should be left on longer. Typically, 3 to 8 hours is needed before you take non-heated roller types off from the hair to get long-lasting curls.

Prepping Your Natural Hair

It’s not only your hair extensions that need prepping. Make sure to wash and condition your hair before putting in your hair extensions. A dab of mousse or gel will help your hair hold a curl and reduce frizz. Once the extensions are attached, use your preferred curling device again to help the extensions blend well with your natural hair.
If you’re too busy to curl your extensions as well as your hair, you can always choose to buy curly hair extensions. Simply put them in and conquer the world with your fancy and eye-catching curls!
